Purpose & Concept
The overall purpose and concept of The International Community Partner Program, which was established as follows: To connect the program countries business communities back in their homelands directly to the NY Business Community (For the purpose of those businesses back home to be able to negotiate deals with the N.Y. businesses in terms of importing the goods made in the developing nations to N.Y.)
2) The program is also geared to attract NY investors to the 30 Developing Nations, through exposing the NY business community to the D.N. investment opportunities and the benefits of the same.
3) The launching of a 15 month media campaign geared to enlighten and educate the N.Y. Business community about the true facts regarding the 30 D.N.‘s, their economies and the stability of their governments. (Each country will be featured individually, hi - weekly)
4) The aforementioned campaign is also geared to give the spotlight to the D.N Nationals business community residing in N.Y. Each Community Partner country was requested to provide the Chamber with the data on their country’s top five nationals doing business in N.Y. These nationals would be used to show the NY business community, the level of business acumen that these foreign business persons possess, the same will serve as a testament to the desirability of these nationals as business partners to NV business persons.
5) Zambia’s Commercial Counselor - (Ms. Irene Tembo) gave the delegation a presentation regarding the Zambian Gem Stone Industry, the Chamber responded by inviting Zambia and all International Community Partner member countries rich in Gems, Diamonds and Precious Metals to The 47*11 St Diamond District Networking Reception on February 8tb 2007 at 6:30 P.M.
6) The Chamber took a vote from the countries present, regarding the development of a New Chamber of Commerce to service the needs of the African Countries who at this time do not have a Chamber in N.Y. to represent their individual countries. The suggested Chamber was call The African Allied Nations Chamber of Commerce. The response from ALL five African countries present was unanimously in favor of the proposed Chamber, which will become one of the new goals of the program. This new Chamber will serve ALL of the African Inducted countries until each country has their own, then the new Chamber will be dissolved.
7) Reasons for country exclusions from the program were reiterated by President Jaffe and Kim Fuller. Those reasons for a country’s exclusion were as follows:
A - Countries under Dictatorships
B - Countries under Military Rule
C - Countries engaging in Genocidal Practices
D - Failure of the country to follow international protocol rules of decency
